When we start a company, creativity is a factor that will accompany us through all of our work pathway. That’s why we shouldn’t run from it or turn it into something monotonous for us. Creativity will help us be more competitive. Of course, in many areas, like advertising or customer service, it is vital. Many times, when we see an ad or publicity of some sort or a super creative strategy of a different company, we always think why didn’t we come up with that idea first.
Barriers for the entrepreneur
There are some barriers, personal and external, that may make our attempt to be a new entrepreneur difficult. It is important to work on our self-esteem, because usually a low self-esteem can make us think that an idea is not worth it, when it actually is. We don’t have to be afraid of making mistakes: it is also a part of learning.
A good way to generate new ideas is researching for new methods to perform our tasks, maybe changing the way in which we do things. It’s not advisable to think that, just because it’s always been done in the same way, that’s the only and best way.

Creating something is not like doing math. It requires other stimulus that, maybe, aren’t provided by your work environment. Talk to your partners, maybe one of them will give you an idea that will help you. Sometimes the best ideas come from the least expected place. You need to be receptive of everything you hear, even though sometimes it doesn’t make a lot of sense.
Motivate your work group, always in a possitive way, considering there will always be a solution for problems; as long as you are able to identify the problem, half the work will be done. Brainstorming sessions are literally a rain of ideas to stimulate answers but without evaluations, where criticism is forbidden. The main objective is to gather ideas.
Write ideas down or record them, do not let them escape; they can come at any moment and in any place. Try to always have a pencil and paper at hand. Ask for opinions from people that don’t belong to your usual environment, specially from people with different professions; it’s likely that a person with a completely different education may surprise you.
