For this periode they get in contact with another world, news friends, with different nationalities and hobbies. Your can go to Paris and study art, do you prefare Economy in St.Gallen, Law in Berlin, International Relations in London or Languages in Barcelona?
Studying one year in Geneva may help you learn french, but given as a fact, that many spanish students come here, maybe your will learn spanish too! Be prepared for adventures, differents cultures, many partys, different point of views in university classes. Big vacactions are nothing compared to one Erasmus Year!
I just graduated from the university of Amsterdam. I never took the chance to go abroad with the Erasmus program during my study. Something I truly regret because I love meeting people from a different background. I did study Spanish in Barcelona with a private institute, which was a lot of fun. But because it was a private institute, I didn’t get to meet a lot of natives.
Since I graduated, I started working for a website that connects students from all over Europe. The users of this website are all interested in going abroad and meeting different cultures. The people I have met online made me realize I missed out on a lot of fun and interesting spirits.
So if you are having doubts on going aborad…………Just Gooooooooooo!
Thanks for the information. Maybe you could point out in this section that the “typical Erasmus” programme has been enlarged recently to students from all over the world. This programme is called “Erasmus Mundus” and in principal works the same way – with the objective to enhance intercultural exchange. But just not limited to the EU or EFTA countries.

I’m currently studying master degree of Social Anthropology in Lithuania, first year. I’m planning to do a research on Ecological Gastronomy; my main focus at the moment is Slow Food. I would like to do my Erasmus internship this summer, for 3-4 month starting from July to October. Do you think you could suggest any relevant internship? Any information would be greatly helpful.
